Its that time of year again. This years league starts on the last weekend of October (24th/25th) and run for 7 weeks finishing on the 5th/6th Dec. The league standings will be calculated on competitors 4 best cards out of the possible 7. Each week there will be prizes for 1st and 2nd. The prizes will be vouchers for the excellent local butchers in Blessington. Domestic cuts will be applied to 1st and 2nd each week for the rest of the individual competitions but not for the Hamper league itself.
The cuts will be applied in the following fashion Class 1 handicaps range 0-11 1 full shot for a win, half a shot for 2nd off your exact handicap. Class 2 handicap range 12-28 2 full shots for 1st and 1 shot for 2nd off your exact handicap.
The intention is to play 7 rounds of 18 holes but frost delays and light may necessitate 9 or 13 hole competitions during the league. League Scores will be calculated by competitors 4 best stableford pts returns. If a weekends competition is only 13 holes then scores will be rounded up 2 pts per hole to equate to an 18 hole competition, the same will apply for a 9 hole competition weekend……. for example someone scoring 26 pts for a 13 hole comp will have 36pts returned for their league score that weekend and someone who has 16 points for a 9 hole comp will have 34 returned for their league score that weekend.
In the event of a tie in the league standings the person with the best last card of their 4 will be deemed the winner. If both last cards are the same then it will go to the best last 9 of the last counting cards.
Hampers will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the league.
There is no entry fee for the league.
BRS booking system in use.
Winter league vouchers and hampers will be presented following the AGM which will take place Sunday 13th December at 10 am.
