Weekend Roundup March 25th

What a difference a week makes. From a snow covered golf course last weekend to near perfect conditions this weekend. The course was in fantastic condition, hard to believe after the weather we’ve had. It was great to see all the new faces in the clubhouse and out on the course, a warm welcome to all the new members.

This weekend saw the final round of the Joe McKeever Memorial and the Spring League Semi Finals taking place. The Joe McKeever final round was won by Darach Nugent in scintillating fashion with an impressive 46 points. Darach started and finished well parring the first and last 3 holes, while also managing to be the only player to make par at both the index 1 and 2 holes. In second spot was Diarmuid McCarthy with 39 points, Diarmuid birdied 1 and 8 on the way to a fantastic gross of 74. In third spot was Vincent Chapman with 38 points, an excellent round form Vincent with 9 pars and a birdie at 12.

Spring League

The Spring League, Champions League and Inter Toto finals were decided today. In the Champions League Darach Nugent was without the injured Sean Farrell but managed to overcome Tom and Gary, beating them 3&2. Eddie Ingram and Dave Callaghan over came Mark Williams another lone ranger. It looks set to be a great final with 1st, 2nd and 3rd from the Joe McKeever all involved, hopefully Sean will have recovered in time for the final. The Inter Toto Final will be Donie Mc Evoy & James O Dwyer V Joe O’Toole & Richard Kelly.
