Blessington Lakes Golf Club is looking to recruit for 2 roles that could be carried out by 1 or 2 persons. The roles are Clubhouse Supervisor and Clubhouse Assistant – see below for more details. Job Title: Clubhouse Assistant
Reporting to: The Clubhouse Supervisor
Duties:
- Acting as the first point of contact for Members and Visitors calling to the Club
- Processing of cash and credit card financial transactions through the till
- Following up of subscription renewals with members via telephone
- Ensuring that the various member databases are accurately maintained and synchronised
- Posting of notifications through the website, social media or noticeboards around the club
- Providing tea/coffee and refreshments to members and visitors
- Any other duties as may be directed from time to time by the Golf Club management committee. You will report to the Clubhouse Supervisor, who is acting on behalf of the club.
The successful candidate will:
Essential:
- Have a minimum of 2 years customer service/administrative experience in a busy working environment
- Be able to work on own initiative, completing ad hoc jobs at quieter times
- Be keen to learn
- Have a warm, friendly personality and be a good communicator
- Be a good fit to the existing team
- Be willing to work flexibly
- Have their own transport
Desirable:
- Be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Possess a knowledge of the golf industry
Approx 20 hours per week, working Saturday and Sunday every 3rd weekend
Job Title: Clubhouse Supervisor
Reporting to: The Management Committee of Blessington Lakes Golf Club
Responsible for: 3 part-time staff
Duties would include:
- Setting up and maintaining the BRS timesheet
- Overseeing the 3 databases are in sync and that all data is accurate and up to date, providing various reporting as required.
- Tasks associated with Competitions as agreed with Competition Secretaries e.g. set up, checking cards, assigning prizes, etc.
- Reconciling and reporting on till transactions and other tasks as agreed with Treasurer
- Following up outstanding subscriptions, accounts updates, etc
- Keeping all relevant parties updated through various media – email, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instragram, Twitter and Newspaper
- Ad hoc tasks such as scorecard design and print, etc.
- Responsibility for monitoring and purchase of clubhouse stock – merchandise, snack, beverage and food items
- Point of Contact for Function Room events (societies, club events) including finalising or hiring catering and serving staff or services.
- Managing staff (both permanent and casual), including weekly team meetings and to provide cover for annual leave/sickness, etc
- Carry out the Payroll Function for 5 employees
- Close liaison with Management Committee, providing them with regular reports

- Be proficient in office systems such as Microsoft Office, Google Drive, etc.
- Possess some basic accounting knowledge
- Be a good fit to the existing team
- Be willing to work flexibly
- Have their own transport
Desirable:
- Possess a good knowledge of the golf industry
- Be experienced and proficient with golfing systems
Approx 16-20 hours per week, working at the clubhouse Monday to Friday 9am to 1pm
