Some notable performances

Just looking through peoples results/performances doing the birdie league and there are really some notable scores being carded by by Blessington Lakes members. The one that sticks out for me is Brendan Flynn as he prepared for the junior cup in Castlewarden. Bren entered 2 opens in Castlewarden prior to the event itself carding an average enough 27pts in his 1st round, a few days later Bren went back and scored 35 pts. On the day of the junior cup Bren shot a 3 over 75 gross or in stableford terms 40 pts, a 13 point improvement on his 1st card. Brendan’s efforts should be an inspiration to us all. in trying to improve on how we prepare for interclub at any level and he has reduced his handicap by .8 down to 6..1  Niall O Conner also consistently works on all aspects of his game. At Niall’s level only getting cut .1 for every shot better that standard scratch makes lowering your handicap extremely difficult, yet looking at Niall’s recent scores he has had 3 such .1 cuts in his last 3 competitive rounds one of them also at Castlewarden in the Junior cup. Joey Donohoecame very close to a top 3 spot in Newlands GC after shooting an 80 gross at their recent Junior Scr Cups. Well done guys
