Round 5 of the Spring League match play took place on the best Sunday Morning of the year so far. Well at least until a haymaker of a shower came bounding out of the North West to drown and freeze competitors. I saw one gent being eaten by his umbrella as he hunkered behind it sheltering on the horizon of the hill on the 8th hole. Brendan Flynn and Richard Kelly won again making it 5 wins out of 5 exiting from their group into the final. The only two pairings from the other group able to get to the final were Cormac Noone and Pat McEnroy and Vinnie Chapman and Nick Mc Hardy. Both pairings lost but as Pat and Cormac had 7 points so far, one more than Vinnie and Nick they have qualified to face 5 from 5 men Bren and Richard. The Final will be played Next Sunday Morning. Players will be notified of the time.
