Presidents Prizes brings that big comp buzz back

Absolutely fantastic weekend just gone folks with the club holding its first real Major comp in 2 years. The place was mobbed nearly like Talla when the Northside red and black come over. Between the 3 Presidents prizes we had 150 members competing which would be one of the best attended weekend competitions in a while so well done to everyone and all of us here working behind the scenes hoped you enjoyed your game as we got such a buzz from seeing the carpark full and the veranda being used by so many. So good as well to be able to have something to eat before and after and just chat to people. So we have had a news piece around the pay and play members prior so we will concentrate this part of the post on the full Mens and Ladies comps . In the ladies Presidents prize Ita Hill (57) romped home with 45 points. Ita had a very steady round with no real disasters and in the end had 9 points to spare over Breda Manning (43) who finished with 36 pts. 3rd spot went to Our Julie (17) who finished her round signing for 33 pts. The mens presidents prize went to perhaps one of the most lovable guys in the club Ger Murray. Ger played magnificent golf, his concentration and ability to manage his way around the course never waned over the 27 holes and folks that is no mean feat on the Blessed 9 or in this case the blessed 3 nines. Ger playing off 16 on the day racked up 40 points to lead qualifying for the final 9. Ger then returned the best score of 20 pts on the final 9 to eventually beat Dave Callaghan (15) who finished with 56 pts for the 27 holes. Hugh Donnelly (7) finished in 3rd spot with 52 pts for the 27 holes. Great day folks talk soon.
