What a lovely Photo of our home pairings taken at yesterdays Mixed Foursomes match in Castlewarden GC, who is that practicing on the putting green? anyway back to that in a mo……………Brilliant to see one of our newer members win the May Medal with Phil Holmes returning a 71 to win by 1 from Adam Feighry who won Cl 1 with a 72. Jamie Tutty had the best gross with an 80. Cl 2 honors were taken by Neill Larrigan, well done Neill and on the tougher of the 2 days. Cl 3 was won Paul Allen with a 74. Only 2 birdies in the medal, who picks those pin placements? and better still only one of those 2’s club counting. Nice one Dave Callaghan thats 1 years worth entries to the 2’s club. The top 12 finishers now qualify for the 2023 Club Matchplay 1st Rd proper with those finishing from 13th to 20th inclusive playing off in a Prelim Round to determine the 4 people who will join the top 12 finishers in the 1st Round of 16. The Prelim Round and draw will be posted here towards the end of this week.
Meanwhile in Interclub action we had our Mixed Foursomes team in action yesterday v Castlewarden GC and what a match folks with the away pairings of both clubs winning 2 matches on their oppositions patch. In the end the Blessed 9 lost the decisive match on extra holes. Winners on the day were Dairmuid McCarthy-Rita Malone and Sean Farrell- Dymphna Darby. Well done everyone involved.
