Report

In probably the windiest conditions seen across both days of a summer medal in years Paul Dowd (12) simply demolished the field with a stunning  score of 79, with 12 coming off that Paul’s nett  67 was good enough to win the July Medal by 3 strokes. Paul a former member of Beech Park really has settled in well and having spent some time getting use to the course Paul is now putting in some great performances and steadily  reducing his handicap towards single figures. In 2nd place came Niall O Conner (5). Niall had a brilliant round considering the wind and his effort of 75 gross has to be the best round played on the course this year, Niall signed for a net 70. The best gross prize was won by Sean Farrell with an 84. Category prizes below. Well done guys. The wind blew consistently hard over the 2 days so everyone had similar conditions this was reflected in the low birdie count of 10. Looking at the cards there were some big numbers with the 2nd in particular being particularly carnageable….is that even a word, must try it in scrabble.

Cat 1 Vinnie Chapman (9) 77

Cat 2 Ray Murphy (16) 77

Cat 3 Tom McGrath (22) 71
