Last weekends open singles say a good size field taking advantage of the pleasant Spring conditions. The course had really firmed up in the previous week and so keeping the ball on the fairway was really critical as any off line tee shots were now running into tree lines when the previous weekend they were holding up. No Birdies again last weekend just goes to show how difficult the Blessed nine can be. 4O Points turned out to be the best score returned and that was by our Hon Sec Cormac Noone, bout time as you have been cabbage since the Winter League. Thomas Mc Dougall was runner up finishing a point back on 39. In 3rd place with 38 pts we had a welcome visitor Daragh McIntyre (9) from Westmanstown – well done Darragh – best gross I would say. The best Saturday score was returned by Bernard Fitzpatrick and the best Sunday score was returned by Tony Mc Ginley. Well done to all prize winners. Medal this weekend folks should be fun…. i think. Will anyone break 70 not a hope, the blessed 9 will be cold, long and as hard as nails, more chance of everyone’s favourite 2nd team Finn Harps winning the league.
