Open singles result Sat 12th March

A bright but cool and breezy morning greeted competitors playing in the clubs 1st open singles of the year. Looking out at the course from the car park on arrival and reflecting on the recent weeks winning scores many thought that 40 pts plus needed to be the target if a prize was to be collected. But as it turned out the course really played tough with only 4 birdies being recorded all day by the field. In the end 2 returns of 37 pts were the best scores recorded with Cormac Noone (11) just pipping Eoin Hipwell (22) on the back 9. Eoin now seems to be getting to grips with the game and really is one to watch out for this season, potential Medal winner gents. Cormac, will he realize his long held ambition to be a single fig golfer this year? i am not sure but his recent suggestion that if he does not make it in 16 then he is going to switch sports for 17, should just be the incentive he needs…. Bog Snorkeling Cormac are you sure?
