News, bits and pieces

Last Tuesday July 18th was the hottest day of the year but that did not stop our mixed team performing with geat credit at the Donadea trophy at Knockanally Golf Club. The winners on the day were fellow 9 holer Kimashogue G C  with a score of 115 pts from their best 3 cards, our score in comparison was 105 pts. Thanks to all at Knockanally GC for a great day.

Well done to Darragh Fagan who won the July 11th open singles at Grange Castle golf club with a brilliant score of 43 pts. We all have great golfing hopes for Darragh who has now lost 10 shots in a little over a yea, keep it up Daz.

Ronnie Feighry takes a team of Juniors down to play in a tournament at Wicklow golf club today so best of luck guys.

I see things are hotting up in Cat 1 of the birdie league. Niall O Connor has moved into top spot knocking Sean “birdieman” Farrell off his perch. Niall has worked really hard on his game over the past 12 months is now playing off 4 cementing his place as our lowest golfer in the full member category.

We should have the results of wekends Champagne Scramble later on this evening. These competitions traditionally are not that well supported in the club but that was most definitely not the case over the weekend with the majority of members reporting that  they enjoyed the format, just shows all of us how much lower our scores would be with consistent driving.
