In yesterday’s Barton Cup Game V the Royal Curragh the blessed 9 emerged with a 3 – 2 victory in a very tight match. It was left to our last pairing at home after both clubs had taken 2 matches each. Playing for the Lakes were Diarmuid Mc Carthy and Ray Murphy and they ended up having to go down 19 at home where a great approach shot by Diarmuid was converted by Ray for a Birdie and the ever so sweet important 5th match. This was no mean feat guys against a very formidable club and last years Finalists in the competition. We will play the winners of Rosslare GC and Wexford GC in the next round.
Today saw the blessed 9 taking on Rathsallagh in the Fred Perry Trophy another 3 2 result but this time we came up 1 short well done Rathsallagh. The clubs next in Interclub action is of the mixed variety on June 5th in the Cullen Cup V Coolatin. The men will then play in the Duggan Cup V Beech Park on June 7th . Best of luck to all taking part. Next weekend sees 2 separate fourball better ball competitions taking place with the best Full Member pairing score over both days going on to represent the club in the Holmpatrick Cup later in the year.
