Last weekend saw our July Medal taking place over a sun drenched course. The balmy weather really suited some people with several competitors having excellent rounds. None more so than Richard Kelly (22) who returned a 65 nett, blinding score Richard and well done, one of the best medal scores we have ever had over the blessed 9. Cat 1 was won by Diarmuid McCarthy (5) with a 1 under gross and a 66 nett. Diarmuid equalled the course record off the blues set by Eddie Ingram a couple of years ago. Diarmuid’s remarkable round included 3 birdies and an eagle on the 13th. Some shooting Bantry be Proud of Ya Diarmo. Ray Murphy won Cat 2 (16) with a 66. Ray has being playing so well this year and an 82 gross is testament to what i have seen a lot of this year playing with Ray which is very dependable play off the tees. A 66 i think wins most medals so unlucky Folks. In cat 3 we had John Messit (28) win with a 74. Great to see John getting in the prizes a real solid member of our club, well done John.
