Morning Lakesiders, so here we go again. This latest lockdown may well be the last big battle of our war against this new virus. But i am reminded of all the last battles in wars and how people who can see light of hope on the horizon still died in those final days of attrition. Just as the vaccines are being rolled out thousands of people will still die in the next two or three months from the virus in Ireland and the UK , that is a Fact Plain and Simple. Worth bearing in mind when we are grumbling about not getting out for our game of golf. So stay safe and give our politicians whom we all elected some credit for tackling the biggest problem this country has faced in peacetime. Do they get everything right? No certainly not but remember we live in a country where you are free to shout from the rooftops about stuff that you feel is not right. Right Mick Leech over, who is Mick Leech……ahhh what a player.
So when we come back in a number of weeks the good news is that our subs will be a little lower at €619 plus your Golf Ireland fee. The club felt it was really important to give something back to our loyal Full Members who have missed a significant number of playing days since last March. This is the 2nd year that the club has managed to reduce its Full Member renewal rate. Happy New Year Folks.
