A brilliant score of 39 pts was enough for Adam Feighry (12) to secure top spot in the latest round of the spring league. The course set up for the weekend was extremely challenging with all the pin positions to the back of the all greens and the markers set almost in blue positions on the majority of tee boxes. 2nd spot went to Gerry Carney (5) who amassed 38 pts on his sojourn around the “Blessed Nine” Gerry also had an eagle at the 9th hole, one of 2 on the day with Steven Byrne (5) replicating the feat on the 17th. In 3rd spot came Alan Doolan (6) with 37 pts. Alan has shown some fantastic early season form, he has moved to the top of the spring league overtaking “Silky ” Tom Barret. Joey Donohoe has also moved past Tom almost unnoticed to sit 2nd in the league following some consistently high places in recent weeks..The recent trend of there being only one or two birdies in the 2’s club was well and truly shattered at the weekend with 10 deuces being recorded. There were no birdies on Saturday and 24 on Sunday. Well done again Adam, Garden County call up lads???? Just to finish while there is no official birdie league as such this season, (unless someone wants to sponsor one) which would be fantastic you can check the amount of Birdies being recorded in competition and by who by clicking on the exceptional scoring reports at the bottom of the master scoreboard results each week.
