Eoin Hipwell’s captures seasons 1st Medal

A brilliant nett 66 saw Eoin Hipwell (22) sit proudly at the top of the standings in the seasons opening medal when all the cards were fed into the Computer. Eoin had 3 shots to spare over Darragh Fagan (27) in 2nd spot, Darragh i am sure will be delighted with the 2 shot cut accruing from his efforts..In 3rd place came Paul Dowd (12) who finished with a nett 70. Paul’s score meant that he won the Cat 1 prize. Paul is showing some nice early season form. Michael Cullen (15) kept up his recent run of good performances by finishing 4th with a 71 which meant that Michael secured the Cat 2 honours. Joey Donohoe (8) came next also on 71,   Mark Williams (23) won the Cat 3 prize with an excellent return of 72. The best gross prize was won by Niall O Conor with score of 79. The course played exceptionally long and tough in the cool conditions over both days. Talking about the length of the holes it seems that they were not long enough for one of our more senior members. Ed Seery decided the course needed to be even longer so played his 2nd shot on the 10th out of the Carpark after hitting the white tee markers attempting to get his drive away. Ed eventually signed for a 7 not bad out of the carpark Ed. Oh yea we now have a golf buggy available to hire, please book through Betty. If anyone wants it on a Sunday lunchtime you better like cigar smoke.
