Report

Ed Seery (15) emerged victorious in last weekend’s August Medal. Ed came back in just 4 over par in the most testing of conditions to record a Nett 72. Mick Nolan (13) also played extremely well in the wind, also carding a Nett 72 and just losing out on the Count back. The gross prize went to Niall O Connor, Niall’s 79 was the only score registered by the computer under 80. he ain’t the lowest handicap golfer  for nothing gents. Cat 1 honors went to Paul O Farrell  (10), 3rd week in a row that Paulie has been in the prizes, and all on different courses. I reckon that Paulie is one to keep an eye on in the Captains next week. Cl 2 laurels went to Justin Byrne (15), the big hitting Dubliner managed to keep the ball in County Wicklow enough times off the tee to secure a nett 76 again a good score in the winds of the weekend. In Cat 3 it was that young man again “Daz” Fagan (19) Darragh’s nett 76 just about good enough to hold off the rest of the Cat 3 players….only a matter of Time before Daz features in Cat 2.The conditions over the two days were remarkably windy considering the time of year. The wind actually took down half a large tree to the right of the 1st  fairway just short of the bunker. Only 10 birdies over the 2 days. oh yea will any of yiz that ARE  N R    ING STOP for fcuk sake.It messes up the Standard scratch and its a right  pain in the Swiss………Swiss role…….Hole…….Rearend, ass, posterior derrierre bum. Get practicing the Captains is next weekend, Dave Costigan is his name if you have to make the winning speech.
