Darragh Fagan got his golfing season up and and running with a hard fought win last weekend. Darragh is one of our up and coming young players who has the potential to get into single figures quite quickly and i am sure will be of interest to some of our interclub managers. Darragh playing off 24 on the day won on the back 9 with a return of 39 points, that Birdy on 10 Darragh. In 2nd spot came Ian Whelton playing off 30 on the day also finishing with 39 pts. Well done Gents. The best Saturday score of 37 pts was returned was by Dave Farrelly playing off 19 on the day with the best Sunday score being that of Pat Reid 37 pts and playing off 11 on the day.
Standard weekend competitions going forward for the rest of the year will have the following prize structure. Overall 1st, 2nd and possibly 3rd depending on the size of the playing field and the best Saturday and Sunday scores outside of the overall.
Great sized field at the weekend and fairly calm conditions but again the Blessed Nine showed what a real tough nut it is with only 5 birdies being returned. Ger Murray….. again, Jamie Tutty with 2, Glenn Farrell and Diarmuid McCarthy were our birdie men. €18 40 per duece folks, not bad.
