The weekend before last 26th/27th June saw a large field take to the blessed nine with whats becoming a familiar name sitting proudly on top when all the cards were in. Well done Megan Feighry (38) who returned 44 pts to take 1st place. What will Megan be playing off at Christmas will be very interesting to see. Keep on playing and having fun Megan. In 2nd spot was Barry Behan (28) with a score that would win most weeks 41 pts well done Barry, pared 4 of the 1st 6 holes, mmm one to watch at the presidents folks. In 3rd spot was Terry Tiernan (20) visiting from Druids Heath again on 41 pts but just being pipped by Barry on the countback. Hope you enjoyed your outing on the blessed nine Terry. Best Saturday score was returned by Dermot Byrne (26) with 40 pts and on Sunday the best score was returned by that wily lefty Pat McEnroy (20) again with 40 pts. Only 2 little birds recorded, the payout 49 europeans not bad.
The midweek open June 29th/30th was a very competitive affair which was won by Daire Hanrahan (25) with 44 pts, super score Daire. In 2nd spot we had Tony Hannon Jnr (18) with 42 points, might be Tonys first prize on the blessed 9 so congrats Tony. In 3rd place then we had Gerry O Connor (11) who returned 41 pts. Ger scratched the 4th other than that the round would have been a mid seventies gross. Some serious golfers coming into the club folks. Just looking through some other scores and Daniel Deane’s is a wow. Daniel (6) had a 76 gross with a double bogey and a quadruple bogey. Daniel also had 4 birdies one of which was good enough to take the whole two’s pot of €38. Presidents Prize alert.
