Brilliant turnout out yesterday for Respective Captains Mary and Damien Drive in and fantastic to see €225 being raised for the Friends of Naas Hospital from that Putting Competition, really great idea. Folks what about the condition of the course yesterday as Roy would say “all credit to…. Tom staff and the volunteers”. Big shout out to our Gardening Volunteers Group and the work they have being doing around the course. That piece of work they are currently engaged with around of the on the 7th will frame that hole nicely as you stand up to tee off.
Great to see the massive levels of interest in the Mens Singles and the inaugural Fourball Match play competitions. The Mens Singles Matchplay will be in a Champions League format this year with 18 groups of 3. Each group member will play each other with the 18 group winners then proceeding into a knockout draw. The draw will be made in the next day or two and posted here. We will have news of the Fourball Matchplay in a week or so. Managers have been now appointed for our Mens Interclub Teams, again we will post all the interclub news here as it comes in.
Next week sees the recommencement of our Summer Series. Competitors will have the chance of qualifying for the 2025 Grand Finale each week through entry to the Mid Week open singles. The Summer Series was a huge success last year with the Grand Finale day being arguably the 3rd ranked competition day of the year after our Captains and Presidents so folks get your qualification in early. In other news i am hearing on the grapevine that plans are at and advanced stage for the installation of a 2 bay practice net to be located at a different place and finally a big welcome to all our new members who have joined recently. Enjoy your time taking on the Blessed Nine.
