Its that time of year again – The 30th June & 1st July we will have our Captains Prize Qualifying Rounds. The time sheet is filling up so get your name down by using the online booking system
The top 30 players and ties will qualify for the Captain’s Final on Saturday the 7th July with the leading players going out in reverse order from 11.30am, with the leaders going out at approximately 1.00pm.
After the Golf on the 7th July at 8.30pm we will be having a Buffet style BBQ in the Club House with a bar in operation serving draught Guinness and Carlsberg as well as wine (you are also allowed to bring your own drink if you wish). The Prize Giving will follow the meal and then we will finish the night off the bar. Tickets are priced at €20 and can be obtained from Tom Bealin 086 8213223, please book early as the numbers are limited to 100 for insurance reasons.
30th June & 1st July
Captains Qualifier 18 hole stroke from blue markers. Entry Fee is €15 which will cover both days. You may play either Saturday or Sunday but not both, players who are playing on Sunday are asked not to practice the course on the Saturday (This does not apply to those playing in an interclub match on Sauturday evening). The top 30 players and ties will qualify for the 18 hole final on Saturday the 7th July. The top 3 gross will also qualify regardless over the nett finish. For those who don’t qualify they can enter the Captain’s Plate on the morning of the final between 7:30am-9:30am. To be eligible to win Captain’s Prize you must have either returned 3 singles cards in Blessington Lakes in 2012 or have represented the Club at interclub level in 2012. As agreed at our AGM 2009 Juveniles are only eligible to participate in the Men’s Captain’s Prize providing they have achieved a GUI handicap of 18 or lower. If juveniles have not they may participate by playing off 18 on the day.
We will have our Traditional Captain’s Shoot Out, Ladies and Gents (Full members) are welcome to play in this fun event, registration from 5pm, tee off at 6pm. Call the club house if you are running late and we will put your name in the draw. Please note that the open that is usually run on Wednesday’s will not go ahead to accommodate the shoot out and course maintenance
7:30am-9:30am – Captain’s Plate for non-qualifiers 18 hole stableford
11.30-1.00pm – Captain’ Prize Final played over 18 holes Stroke, in the event of a tie the players tied at the top will play a sudden death play-off commencing on the 1st hole, best nett score on the hole wins.
8.30pm – BBQ in the Club House with Bar. Tickets are €20 and can be obtained from Tom Bealin 086 8213223 or email firstname.lastname@example.org Everyone is welcome to what promises to be a fantastic night. Please book early to avoid disappointment.
9.30pm – Prize Giving followed by music in the bar
