Incoming Captain’s Aisling O’Connor and Gerry Murray ceremoniously drove in the new golfing year in style, to the cheers from their family, friends and members. And despite the fear of being outdriven by the Lady Captain, Gerry smashed one down the middle of the fairway, just inching by Aisling’s ball…was she holding back? We’ll never know. But what a fabulous day – the atmosphere was electric, the golf was excellent and the food and craic later was fantastic. The winning team on the day was made up of Derek Brogan, Marty Maguire, Marion Hanlon and Sinead Flood. The best gross was returned by the visiting foursome of Brendan O’Connor, Glaisne McKevitt, Geraldine Norton and Audrey Quinn.
