Congratulations to our 2018 Captains Prize winners, Vincent Chapman and Angela Seery.
Vincent sat in third position going into the final day, two shots off the lead and played in the final group, with Gerry Carney and Pat Reid. It was nip and tuck between the trio throughout the day with those chasing unable to get in reach of the final group. Vinny stepped it up a level birdieing 16, 17 and paring the 18th to give him a one shot victory over his playing partner and joint first round leader Gerry Carney. Angela had a fantastic round of golf winning the Lady Captains Prize by three clear shots. Angela and her husband Eddie have been stalwarts of the club, and it was fantastic for Angela who has given so much to our club to finally win a Captains Prize. The signs were there as Angela has been playing some great golf lately, finishing runner up in the June Medal. In second place was Mary Magee and Rita Malone in third. Captains Full Result
The Captains Plate was won by Adam Ferighy.
Well done to both captains, Tony and Mairead who have been brilliant throughout the year and hosted an excellent captains dinner. Rita and her team did a marvelous job on the catering, the food was fantastic. The night went off without a hitch, a huge thanks to everyone who made it possible, it was great to see everyone pulling together, taking so much pride in our club and most of all enjoying themselves.
