Blessington Lakes Golf Club

25 Years 1998 to 2023

There’s plenty of competitive activity among our Ladies, with Eilish Lawlor demonstrating her red hot form, by taking an early lead in the Ladies Spring League (she also was the Best Full Lady Member in the January Monthly Back 9 Competition as well as victor in the Par 3 contest which took place on New Year’s Weekend)….go Eilish.

The Ladies Club headed out on Saturday afternoon to show our up and coming GIG ladies how it’s done by running a fun 3 lady scramble…our incoming Lady Captain Aisling, her very competent daughter Aoibhinn and GIG big hitter Noreen Joyce took the spoils…and the lovely hats. Rita Malone, Mary O’Brien and Mary Tutty were second place. Well done to all who braved the weather – if you can play in that, you can play in any weather! Mairead Hackett had a prior engagement but her name was not left out of the speeches – her dedication to the GIG initiative always deserves a mention.

Aisling, Aoibhinn and Noreen…hats off to you, girls!

And our Ladies Competition Committee is up and running with plenty of decisions being made re. interclub teams, a Ladies Open Day on the 25th April, Granard Cup Qualifying Dates as well as securing a date for our Lady Captain’s Day…this information and more on the Newsletter that can be found in the Ladies Locker Room.
