Noel Searson (22) showed the rest of this famous golfing family how to do it last Sunday in wining Rd 7 of the winter duck league win a very impressive 31 points for the 13 holes. In 2nd spot came a member of one of our newer golfing dynasties, Mark Fagan (12) with a score of 28 pts.Mark also had a 1 shot domestic cut from an earlier runners up spot but his 2 shot cushion over 3rd spot was still good enough for the 2nd place voucher. For the 2nd week in a row the 2’s club had a single winner with Paul O Farrel claiming the whole pot, kettle, saucepan and everything else in the kitchen.
So who won the duck league? Diarmuid Mc Carthy (5) roasted everyone by winning this years league with a score of 148 points. Diarmuid finished 5 clear of Cat 1 winner Paul O Farrell (10) who had 143 pts for his best 4 cards, a hamper and a load of 2’s Bob Dylans, not bad Paulie. Cat 2 was won by Ger Murray (15) with a score of 135, well done Ger. The dogfight that was cat 3 was won in the end by Brendan Wheatley (14) on 134 pts, Super stuff Bren. Thanks to all who competed in this years league, we had improved numbers playing this year when compared to last thanks to the recent influx of new members which is very encouraging. The Spring League commences on the 2nd weekend in January, the winner of which will receive the Joe McKeever Trophy. Details of the 2017 Spring League will be posted in the next couple of weeks.
