Alan Doolan (7) scored a magnificent 38 pts to win this years Presidents prize. Alan seems to really have the knack at performing well in the clubs Marquee competitions, great stuff Alan well done….The course played long and tough off the blues with very little of the summer run remaining due to the wet couple of weeks. In 2nd spot came Pat Brady (11) with 37pts, a little bird tells me that this could of been a little better only for Pats group playing off a wrong tee box, those shotgun starts guys you got to pay attention. Pats haul of prizes was impressive as he also won the shootout and nearest the pin competitions. Conor Fallon won the longest drive on the 17th hole with a humongous blow. Cat 1 honors went to Vinnie Chapman (9) with 34 pts, Cat 2 went to Stephen Carroll (17) with 37 pts and Cat 3 was won by Nick “bunkers” McHardy (23) with 36 pts. Niall O Connor was the gross prize winner with Niall going around the blessed links in 76 shots well done Niall…….Bogsnorkel challenge maybe off 3 by seasons end or 2 lengths of the lake on the 6th in Jan??? The shotgun start seems to have worked very well with play proceeding relatively trouble free given the fourballs format. The real payback for this was the club all being able to sit down together to eat and chat at the presentation of prizes. Congratulations to Mairead Hackett who won the Ladies Presidents prize with 36 pts. A well deserved victory for Mairead who has fought tooth and nail over the years to keep the ladies club going.
