3 person team event a close run thing

Last weekend gone Oct 19th and 20th saw a brilliant turnout for the 3 person team event. The format of just the best stableford score to count on each hole went down well with lots of discussion before hand of what would be needed to to be in the shakeup, “ah sure your gonna need at least 50” In end that was not to wide of the Mark with 2 scores of 49 pts being the best returned with Declan Costello, Dennis Hennessy and Rhys Acton’s 49 wining on the back 9 from Jack Cunningham, Neal Fenton and Cian Brennan. Some scoring gentlemen. In the latest Mid Week open Fred Smith (25) emerged victorious with 37 pts well done Fred your competition purse has been nicely topped up. Our Bank Holiday Charity Scramble takes place today and tomorrow folks a great cause and i see a few spots are left for Tomorrow. There is also a donations box in the Clubhouse can everyone please throw a little something in…..and I mean Bugs Bunny.

The winter league will start next weekend this will run all the way up to the weeks before Christmas and as in recent years the league counts towards our Golfer of the Year competition. The 2021 GOY standings are currently being led by Hugh Donnelly on 85 pts, in 2nd spot with 79 pts is Brendan Wheatly, 3rd is Eddie Ingram on 76 pts with Pat Mc Enroy 2 further back on 74 pts. Now a little bird tells me that Hugh may be in more temperate climes for our more danker months. It would be interesting to see if Hugh returned to inclement parts to put some scores in. If Mick O Leary did a deal for flights into the Southsides Number 1 Aerodrome at Baldonnel he may be tempted. Full details of the league arrangements will be posted here on the website and in the clubhouse during the week.
