Morning folks been a few days since we have posted articles on competitions, some of us have to work for a living, anyway good to see Mr Brendan Wheatley (20) climbing back on to the winners rostrum in last weeks Mid-week open (30th/31st May) with a score 0f 34 points. Well done Bren. Last weekend in the “Theresa Murphy”  Danny “Benjamin Button” Lynch (26) demolished the field with a fantastic return of 40 pts, oh Danny did recently confide in me that he also missed a fairway in the eighties when just before he was driving off on the first hole his pal told him that the Kilcoynes had sold Milltown,, (that is in addition to the time he missed a fairway in the seventies due to a very loud car radio by the way). No seriously folks Danny and his great pal Tony Moore are great supporters of the club and its great to see someone win who is out there week in and week out in all sorts of weather. In 2nd spot on 38 pts was Mark Fagan (12) well done Mark,  in 3rd place on the count back came Ger Murray (15) on 37 pts. On bank holiday Monday just gone  a decent sized turnout was topped by Kieron Spellman (18) on 40 pts well done Kieron, come on pal get your act sorted act go full fffs. in 2nd spot with 38 pts was Justin Byrne (16), well done Justin, and great to see one of our staunchest members Conor Steed (28) taking 3rd spot with 35pts, well done Conor. The presidents prize takes place this Saturday so best of luck to all involved and for those of us unable to play because of work/family commitments there is an open singles competition set for Sunday morning.
