Well it was worth waiting for, after being delayed through Co Vid, Lockdown, County restrictions, what ever your having yourself and finally on the day itself, Frost. Lady Captain Mairead eventually got them away some 45 minutes late. But it was worth it ahead as lay ahead was beautifully presented course and a bright Sunny Autumn day that said “hey this planet still has its moments you know” So thanks to Tom and his merry band of volunteers for the excellent condition of the course and thanks to Evelyn Cusack and the staff of Met Eireann for the nice day.

Mairead had a great turnout on the day and its really heartening to see all the new lady members now getting their teeth into competition. Congratulations to the winner on the Day Mary Cullen (43) who returned a nett 74 to win by 3 from Sinead Nolan (41). 3rd place went to Catherine Darby (38) who finished a shot further back carding a 78. The Gross prize on the day went to Julie Walsh (19) with Julie gliding around the blessed nine in 97 strokes. Breda Manning (52) took front 9 honors with 19 pts. Breda shows great promise folks indeed if it was not for a poor start Breda would have been well in the hunt. The back 9 prize went to Bridie Mulally with 17 pts. While the “the big doo” might have been missing the refreshments served as players finished were most enjoyable and offered the chance to reflect on ones poor shots “ah if only i had ……..” sure you know what i mean.

The ladies club grows from strength to strength and if truth be told its strength is the reason that the club thrives today. Respect Ladies.
